Internship Overview
The SMTE production team is currently recruiting for 2009-2010 production internship openings for level design, character art, environment art, interface design, and engineering.
These production internship positions are unpaid. The internship period is September 2009 to August 2010 - when the SMTE game beta will be launched for pilot testing by implementation team schools.
The SMTE production team has team members distributed across North America and works virtually. The team conducts weekly virtual production management meetings using Acrobat Connect Professional, Moodle, email, conference phone, and a Perforce asset management system.
In each internship position, the time commitment per week is similar. There are two virtual team production meetings per week (approximately 1 hour each) and an average of 10 hours of production tasks per week assigned.
Successful interns in these production positions earn a year of game production experience and a completed game credit for the SMTE digital game-based learning product that is funded by the National Science Foundation and will receive nation-wide dissemination. Additionally, there are no disclosure restrictions on game content for portfolio.
