Level Designer

Internship Position:  Level Designer

Responsibilities:

  • Reports to the Art Director
  • Responsible for developing level layouts, flow, and balancing.
  • Implement game play features.
  • Contributes to the technical construction of the game including world building and scripting
  • Places triggers and writes script for level events
  • Sets up environment models and dynamic models in the game editor
  • Selects and places sound and music in the level

Qualifications:

Photoshop expertise.
Maya or 3DS Max modeling and texturing experience for games.
Scripting or Programming experience.
Experience implementing effects in a game engine.
Level design experience, with at least one completed game project.
Work well in a team setting which includes giving and receiving criticism.
Strong organizational skills.
Industrious work ethic and the ability to work without constant direction.
The ability to solve problems and complete work under reasonable deadlines.
Work well in a team setting which includes giving and receiving criticism.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact effectively.
Ability to multi-task and to adapt easily to change.

Preferred:

Virtools or Unity3D Design Development Experience.
Experience with Sound Forge or similar product.
Serious Game design experience.
Instructional design experience.
Instructional technology experience.
Online teaching and learning experience.
